Anja Geitmann

Dr. Geitmann is the Vice-President, Global Engagement of McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. She oversees the university’s international relations, institutional partnerships and academic mobility.

In her previous role as the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (2015-2023), she oversaw McGill’s research activities and teaching mandates in the agri-food sector. Her background in plant biology has led her to conduct research in plant reproduction and development as the holder of the Canada Research Chair in Biomechanics of Plant Development.

Her 2015 appointment at McGill follows 14 years as Professor at the Department of Biological Sciences of the Université de Montréal and an international academic trajectory, including the Netherlands, Italy, USA, Sweden and Germany.
